With base firmly established at Ostia we endeavoured to ‘shoot’ into Rome for a ‘Quick visit’.
We arrived in the Port of Napoli, as promised, at the chime of 0600.
Maria Rita (Laura’s sister) came by about 1030, the early morning quite against everyones nature by now,
Rested and back on the road, the very same road, in fact our intention being to stay on that road for the day to all intents and purposes.
After a fuzzy start the following morning we rode to the larger town of Caltanissetta, following Silvio on his CBR600
Still feeling the aches and pains of the previous days lengthy ride we set off at a leisurely pace.
The day got off to an ignominious start with a rude awakening at 0630 by cabin crew pounding on our door
An enforced day off the bikes meant a rare if slightly uncomfortable lie-in in our tiny cramped cabin.
Up and at ’em early we broke camp and got on the road well ahead of the heat of the day.
After a disturbed nights sleep and a relatively short day’s ride ahead of us we were in no great rush to get going.
