I’ve been struggling for the last 2 months since my first, faltering WordPress footsteps to get my iPhone to talk to the Blog. Not essential as I could still manage the site via the web, but a “nice to have”. Plus I’m a bit Terrier-like when I come across a problem that shouldn’t exist. The problem as it turned out was nothing to do with my web-inadequacies, but down to a historical blocking of certain .php scripts relied on by WordPress by my web host NamesCo. After a brief foray into NamesCo technical support who, to be fair, have been helpful in the past it seemed it was down to me to sort it myself. Fixes for this issue abound online in various forms (despite protestations from NamesCo clearly I am not alone in my former frustration) but unless you see the world in lines of code like Neo from the Matrix then they don’t make a whole lot of sense. My salvation came in the form of a blog post from someone having similar issues, and indeed also contained a response from NamesCo themselves admitting the problem is theirs. That aside, there’s essentially 5 lines of simple instructions that, if followed methodically, allow the wonders of WordPress and the shiny glory of iOS to communicate freely.
